board member of Hopeful Way Foundation, Dr. Eugene Dordoye, has been awarded
a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship to spend ten months in the U.S.A. to further
his knowledge about drug abuse, prevention and treatment. Click here

Addiction Professionals Visit Ghana in 2011

Merriweather has been with us in Ghana and living in the Oxford
House for five months. Dr. Al Mooney was in Ghana for a three
week period in June. Kristen Harper and Mike Conway came for two weeks in
June. Larry Gaines came for two weeks in August. Click here to read about the

Training Course in Addiction and Recovery
Hopeful Way Foundation and The Addictive Diseases Unit of
Korle Bu Teaching Hospital organized a five-day training programme on
addiction and recovery for counselors and organizations in April, 2009.
The course improved the counseling skills
of those dealing with addiction, and opened the possibility of organisations
putting in place systems that prevent and deal with addiction. Click here

Hopeful Way Foundation is a nongovernmental organization that was
registered in Accra, Ghana in September 2008. The organization established a house to serve as a protective
environment for people recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. Hopeful
Way also creates public awareness of the dangers of alcohol and drug
abuse.
